Wrong End of the Stick
Updated: May 22, 2019
Years ago, when I worked in an office, it was down to me to organise a whip round for birthdays, retirements. leaving do's, etc.
One of the team was getting married and I had been and collected the money but was unsure what gift to buy.
"How about glasses?" someone suggested..
"I don't know her prescription," I replied.
Much hilarity ensued and so off to the shops I went to purchase some beautiful drinking crystal.

A few years ago, a friend called me and asked;
"Are you still looking for your parents?"
"Sorry?" I gulped, panic rising.
"Are you still looking for your parents?" my friend patiently repeated.
I was racking my brains to get my head around what she was asking. Had they both gone senile since I last saw them? It was only last weekend. Why was she the one to ask me? I was so confused until I suddenly recalled she worked in an estate agent's and I had listed their details with her six months beforehand.
"Erm, no," I blushed, thankful we were talking on the phone. "They found a house, thank you."
