Yuletide log footpath leads
Past creme brulee puddles
Crunchy bran flake leaves
Through chocolate mousse mud
Walking boots breaking bracken
Gnary twigs snap underfoot
Fir trees; remnants of Christmas
Mushrooms gather on tree trunks
Upside down witches broomsticks
Skywards reaching to the clouds
Crisp winter air fills my lungs
Cold fingertips inside my gloves
With mother nature, I am in love
Shoots of bluebells greet eyes
Spring’s welcome surprise
Heart lifts as sunlight dapples
Shining dimples on the trees
Such beauty, so glorious
That’s been given to me
