The other day, I popped into my local pharmacy to pick up some vitamins to help with my menopausal symptoms. When I entered, the little bell rang on the door and the friendly assistant asked if she could help. I went blank and said I’d forgotten why I was in there. She moved on to another customer, who smiled at me through his mask - I could tell by his eyes - he obviously lived with a woman of a similar age. I suddenly remembered and brought the packet of vitamins to the till to be served by the other friendly assistant.
Later that morning, I dropped into the supermarket to get some bread and bananas. When I reached home, I realised that I’d left my packet of vitamins on the supermarket counter. Back I drove to retrieve them and while I was in the area, felt the need to go back to the pharmacy and apologise to the assistant who first served me and reveal that the reason I couldn’t remember why I was in the pharmacy, was due to my forgetfulness caused by the menopause - hence buying the menopausal vitamins.
We had a laugh about it because if I didn’t laugh, I’d cry.
