Just Be...

So much emphasis is made on how much you are doing in your life. It's become refreshing that mindfulness has made such an impact on people and their lives. We could all benefit with taking our time doing the things we choose to do and those we feel we have to. Slowing down and not rushing is key.

I love to start my day with a shower to wash my hair and feel the water enliven my skin or lying in a bath filled with hot water and Epsom salts, a candle lit on the window sill in peace and quiet. It sets me up for the day. It's so important to make some time to relax every day. It's easier said than done if you need to wake up early and rush to work. Stretching out in the evening after all your responsibilities are done for the day and taking three deep breaths in and out, really does help you to unwind. Something so simple can be so life changing and helpful..

Walking my dogs, I like to 'just be.' I never listen to music or podcasts at the same time, even though I probably could do with enriching my brain, I prefer to empty my mind. To look around and take in the beautiful countryside views, the sky above me and enjoying the fresh air filling my lungs and giving me roses in my cheeks. It feels so good for my soul and gives me an wonderful sense of freedom and well-being.

Whilst gardening, I like to listen to birdsong and get into 'the flow' of what I am doing. Going into my own little world is such bliss, just letting my thoughts wander. I breathe in the rich, healing properties of the earth and notice what has started to grow under my care. It's restorative.

Just being in the moment is under-rated. Instead of 'doing' all the time, give yourself permission to 'just be' and see where it leads you and how amazing it makes you feel.
