So, I think I've had Coronavirus but I can't be sure. I just know that it is day seven since my symptoms started and I'm feeling a whole lot better. I have had a low level sore throat for about a month now but on top of that, a week ago, I developed a headache that lasted five whole days, aching behind the eyes, mild earrache, fatigue, a slight cough and tightness in my chest.
The things that got me through were paraceetamol every four hours, doing the deep breath exercises and proning (lying on my front and deep breathing for ten minutes at a time), rest, sitting in garden and soaking up the sun, reading, cat naps, what's app messages from family and friends, my family helping around the house, healthy food and drinking lots of water and no alcohol - I actually haven't fancied any for the duration, even on those chilled, white wine evenings.
We got into a bit of an extra new routine in our house, with my daughters empyting the dishwasher and me stacking it, my older daughter making my husband (it's day 10 since his symptoms began) and I nutritious smoothies, us adults making vegetable soup and roasting vegetables, as cooking gets all the germs out - then the daughters had to dish up. I put the washing in the machine and they took it out and hung out to dry. So, I literally did the dirty work and they did the clean work.
Friends who think they have had the virus too said it knocks you for six and it does really wash you out. It's like being everso slightly ill and then you think you'll get on with something but your head starts throbbing as soon as you move, so you shuffle back to the sofa for a nice sit down. We have worn our face masks around the house and kept our distance from our teens as don't want to pass on to them. They think we are being really over the top but we want to be on the safe side. We should buy shares in Dettox spray as our door knobs have never been sprayed so much.
Comedy has been brilliant on social media to lift the world's spirits during this pandemic. A good sense of humour is certainly what the doctor ordered. I have also caught up on so many dramas, films and comedies on TV plus done so much reading which has been very relaxing. I managed to do my pilates class this week to help build my strength up again and looking forward to doing yoga and zumba on zoom next week too.
I am so looking forward to a family dog walk next Saturday when the full 14 day quarantine is over. It's amazing how quickly certain things become normal and the nightly, golden hour walk was getting to be for us. Plus socialising on zoom again beckons - maybe even with that cold glass of white. Imagine how many other things will slowly become normal again once re-introduced.
